G’day Little Queenslanders' celebrated in Townsville

The Queensland Government is continuing to celebrate Queensland’s youngest residents and their families with the latest G’day Little Queenslanders event held at Jezzine Barracks in Townsville.

The free, family-friendly, fun-filled event is all about celebrating little Queenslanders while bringing together families and communities for a morning of fun, laughter and new discoveries.

The Queensland Government is rolling out the welcome mat for little Queenslanders, with the heartwarming free event for families all about showering love on Queensland’s new babies and their families, bringing communities together and making sure parents have access to the must-know government resources and local services.

It is just one of the ways the Queensland Government is delivering a fresh start for Queensland.

The popular series now continues in Townsville, with a strong grassroots and regional focus. Each outdoor event provides a valuable opportunity for families with children aged 0-2 years to connect with local health and family services, enjoy live kids’ entertainment, and take part in engaging, family-friendly activities.

Families who register to attend will also receive a certificate on the day to welcome their Little Queenslanders. Food and beverage trucks and stalls, and relaxing picnic spaces will be available for families to enjoy.

Premier David Crisafulli said it was wonderful to see how much Queensland families value celebrating life’s early milestones together.

“G’day Little Queenslanders is about celebrating our newest Queenslanders and connecting families with the services and supported needed during those early years,” Premier Crisafulli said.

“We want every family, no matter where they live in Queensland, to feel supported and connected.”

The G’day Little Queenslanders series will also visit the Redlands Coast and Cairns in the coming weeks, with more events planned across the state in 2026.
