Assistance to Samoa, Tonga and Sumatra
The Queensland Government is working with the federal government and other states to provide help to Samoa, Tonga and the Indonesian Island of Sumatra following the recent earthquakes and tsunami.

South East Queensland floods – May 2009
Severe weather and heavy rains caused flooding in areas of South East Queensland during May 2009.
Disaster relief arrangements were activated making personal hardship grants available.
North/North West Queensland floods - January and February 2009
During January and February 2009 damaging floods affected the northern regions of Queensland.
Applications for assistance from the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal for the North and North West Queensland floods closed on 30 April 2009.
The Australian Red Cross administered the donated funds on behalf of the Queensland Government. For enquiries contact the Australia Red Cross (non-government site) on freecall 1800 733 111.
