Delegates to ‘Queensland 2020: Ideas to Action’ develop ideas to tackle state issues.

In May 2008 Premier Anna Bligh hosted the Queensland 2020: Ideas to Action Forum.

The forum was held to build on the success of the Canberra 2020 Summit and Queensland's 2020 Forum, both held in April 2008.

At the Ideas to Action forum, more than 100 attendees discussed which ideas could be adopted in Queensland to meet our specific challenges. These ideas were published in the Queensland 2020 Ideas to Action Forum Report.

The Queensland Government has responded to the ideas generated at the forum with its Queensland 2020: Ideas to Action Queensland Government Response.

The report provides the Queensland Government's response to each of the 72 initiatives and proposals listed under the ‘Key Ideas’ sections of the Queensland 2020: Ideas to Action Forum Report.

Of the 72 ideas discussed at the Ideas to Action forum, the Queensland Government accepted 69 ideas in full or in principle. A further idea was accepted in part.

The Queensland Government will work with 2020 delegates and other stakeholders to turn these ideas into reality.

Other examples where the Bligh Government intends to pursue further investigation and discussion include:

Attendees at the Ideas to Action forum also attended the initial Queensland 2020 forum, which was held on 13 April 2008. The initial forum was scheduled prior to the national 2020 summit held in Canberra.
