Government agencies move to the suburbs

The Queensland Government will save almost $200 million over 20 years by moving public servants out of Brisbane’s city centre. Premier Bligh says moving government to the suburbs will also ease pressure on public transport and give many employees the chance to work closer to home.

Congratulations to Gunybi Ganambarr from Yirrkala in Arnhem Land, whose bark painting Burrut’tji at Baraltja took out the Xstrata Coal Emerging Indigenous Art Award. Work by all of this year’s finalists is on display at GoMA until 12 October.

Distinguished diplomat, Ms Penelope Wensley, has been appointed as the next Governor of Queensland. "Ms Wensley's extensive diplomatic career has seen her represent our country at the highest level and with distinction and I am delighted she will become Queensland's next Governor," said Premier Bligh.
