Community Cabinet - Taking government to the people

Regional sitting of Parliament

The next regional sitting of Parliament will be in Cairns from 28 to 30 October 2008.

At Community Cabinet functions, individuals and community groups are able to make formal deputations to Ministers or chat informally over a cup of tea at a community gathering. These forums are designed to bridge the gap between the Government and the people. It's part of my commitment to being a Government for everybody no matter where they live in Queensland.

Fraser Coast Community Cabinet

Premier Bligh's seventh Community Cabinet was held on the Fraser Coast on 29 and 30 June 2008.

Community Cabinet highlights included extra funding for local community groups, funding for the Wide Bay Water Educational Park and recognition of service for local ambulance, SES and police officers.

Ingham and Townsville Community Cabinet Meeting

Premier Bligh's sixth Community Cabinet was held in Ingham and Townsville on 25 and 26 May. Community Cabinet highlights included the announcement of specialist health services for Ingham, the start of construction for a birthing centre in Townsville and the State Education Week launch.

Bribie Island and Redcliffe Community Cabinet

The Bribie Island and Redcliffe Community Cabinet, held on 27 and 28 April 2008, was a resounding success. Highlights included the presentation of laptops to teachers at Bribie Island High and a ceremony to recognise the dedicated service of local police and emergency services officers.
